[gentoo-amd64] Problems with nForce 3 + SATA + Gentoo 2005.1[-r1]

Hi folks,

i have a problem with the following hardware components:

*   MSI K8N Neo Platinum Motherboard (nVIDIA nForce 3 250Gb Chipset)
*   Maxtor 7V300F0 Harddrive


I tried to install a 64-Bit Gentoo with the 2005.1 and 2005.1-r1 Discs,
but both come up with IO errors. I tried to turn ACIP, ACPI, and nearly
any fancy stuff off by means of boot parameters, but the errors still
keep coming.
Here's some some typical error messages: (while using fdisk)
