Hi,

i was amazed to see, that there is a profile for 32bit userland on amd64
hosts. Is there some FAQ somewhere?

I'm especially interested in answers for the following questions:

- what is the goal for that? (well, my personal goal would be, to have a
32-bit system so that i can use all that pre-compiled software that's
not available in amd64 yet - and well, no multilib anymore)

- what is the performance drawback? (does a 64bit kernel run the 32bit
binaries as fast as a 32bit kernel?)

- Are there any major advantages on having a 64bit kernel? (The only
advantage i see is, that you don't run into HIGHMEM-troubles.)

Thank you.
