BTW, if what you do does not work, you can try to disable alsa in kernel |

(leaving only general sound support) and emerge alsa-driver |

It is stil at 1.0.9b for amd64 and will install old drivers. They did |

work for me with 2.6.13, although currently I'm back to 2.6.11 |
