hi everybody
are all emerged packages noticed under /var/db/pkg?
is there another place where portage stores information about installed packages?
the reason i'm asking is that i want to write a python script that compares the new/already emerged packages
(after an "emerge ... world") against /etc/portage/package.keywords.
as i run a stable gentoo, i want to have that file as short as possible. (but it's the opposite right now)
i.e. whenever a needed ~amd64 package turns to stable, i want that script to remove the entry from package.keywords.
i even have a lot of modularX packages in it that aren't even installed. so i want them out as well
so any comments & information is appreriated. thanks!
best regards. robert

ps. sorry for asking but i'm too lazy and have little time right now to walk through emerge and portage python sources
ps1.1 i know it's not amd64 related, but i used to post to that list. (so sorry for that too ;-) )
