4 for me it works. check the following question :

6 in /usr directory you can have "strange /lib6464 library":

14 all problems I had with gcc-4.1.1 migration where caused because of
15 this. last night I succesfully compiled my system without any errors,
16 but I had for 2 weeks some strange problems, which where going more
17 stressing each upgrade I was doing.

19 then, I had the "libpopt" errors during 50% of compilations. and then I
20 started to really look for the reason.
