1	In addition to what Duncan said, I'd recommend app-portage/cfg-update.
2	It is non-interactive, and simply overwrites files that haven not been
3	modified by the user, and leaves files that have well alone. This isn't
4	always what's desired, but it can be a useful tool in some
5	circumstances.
