G'day everyone, |
2 |
|
3 |
Running ~amd64 I have both mplayer and mplayer-bin merged. amd64 land |
4 |
is the usual place for such a scenario so thought I'd write to this list. |
5 |
|
6 |
I'm wondering if the following issue is with the latest version of |
7 |
mplayer or an issue with my setup: |
8 |
|
9 |
Basically I've noticed that mplayer (mplayer-1.0.20060217) starts |
10 |
getting audio out of sync very very quickly and changeably (eventually I |
11 |
have to quit, jump to where I was to reset the sync - using the sync |
12 |
control I get to a delay of up to 2 seconds before it's impossible to |
13 |
find the right place). This is the case if framedrop is set to yes or |
14 |
no in mplayer.conf. |
15 |
|
16 |
On the other hand mplayer-bin (mplayer-bin-1.0_pre7-r3) does not have |
17 |
this issue. If there is any out-of-syncness it is constant (adjust at |
18 |
the beginning and leave). |
19 |
|
20 |
Of course I've tested using the same avi file. |
21 |
|
22 |
I'm assuming both mplayer and mplayer-bin use the same config file so |
23 |
configs should be identical. |
24 |
|
25 |
In both cases ao is sdl:esd but the same thing happens if I override |
26 |
config to ao=alsa |
27 |
|
28 |
|
29 |
|
30 |
Before I get my hands greasy and delve beneath the hood: has anyone else |
31 |
experienced this? |
32 |
|
33 |
W. |
