FWIW... that's one reason nearly all the books I buy now are O'Reilly. |

While where appropriate they include a chapter or two on the closed |

platforms side, they include FLOSS platforms as well and the book as a |

whole tends to be platform neutral, discussing perl or python or C or C++ |

or whatever it might be, with notes one way or the other as appropriate. |
