I should be safe from OOM.  I have 3Gig RAM installed.  With AMD's
HyperSomethingorother that pretends to be a CPU, would it be any benefit
to set the MAKEOPTS to -j4?  2 Cores + 2 Virtual CPUs? 

Thanks again for all the assistance and knowledge (Even the ones that
get a tad long winded.. :-) )
