Portage thinks you have all the dependencies merged, but you don't |

actually have them installed. There are brute-force ways to fix this |

There are probably more subtle ways to fix this, but what you have to |

do, one way or another, is to get portage to forget about any xorg-x11 |

related packages it thinks you have installed, and do a completely fresh |

xorg-x11 install. |
