RE: [gentoo-catalyst] gensplash

I added the following to the stage2:

livecd/splash_type: gensplash
livecd/splash_theme: emergence
boot/kernel/gentoo/packages: splashutils splash-themes-livecd
splash-themes-gentoo

When I ran my last stage2 build failed by saying "Error, cannot setup
splash theme emergence". That theme is included in the
splash-themes-gentoo package. The same thing happens if I try to use the
livecd-2005.1 theme. Any ideas?

Correct.  If you put something into postconf, catalyst automatically
moves it to packages.  The reason for postconf was 100% due to gensplash
and us still using initrd for 2.6 kernels with genkernel.  Once we
switched to using initramfs, postconf was no longer necessary.
