Subject: [gentoo-catalyst] stage2 fails - gcc compiler not found
Date: Wed, 23 Jan 2008 20:01:29
Message-Id: 1201118318.1475.42.camel@jujuy.lambdasistemas.com
I'm having problems building stage2, because no gcc compiler of the
correct subarch.

I'm using catalyst-2.0.5. I used specs based on releng-2007.0.

My first attempt was:

stage1.spec
--------------------------------------------
subarch: x86
target: stage1
version_stamp: lambda-2008.0
rel_type: default
profile: default-linux/x86/no-nptl
snapshot: lambda-2008.0
source_subpath: default/stage3-x86-2007.0
chost: i486-pc-linux-gnu
portage_confdir: /root/lambda2008.0/portage

stage2-desktop.spec
--------------------------------------------
subarch: i686
target: stage2
version_stamp: lambda-2008.0
rel_type: default
profile: default-linux/x86/2007.0/desktop
snapshot: lambda-2008.0
source_subpath: default/stage1-x86-lambda-2008.0
chost: i686-pc-linux-gnu
portage_confdir: /root/lambda2008.0/portage

It doesn't works because building stage2 doesn't finds
i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc (says: "i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc: No such file or
directory"). Stage1 directory has i486-pc-linux-gnu-gcc.

Then I tried using stage3-x86-2006.1.tar.bz2 as source for stage1 (as in
2007.0 specs), but then I get an error building stage1, because it
doesn't finds i486-pc-linux-gnu-gcc (it has i386-pc-linux-gnu-gcc).

I didn't try 2007.1 profile because it's experimental, but tell me if
it's solved using it.

Thanks in advance.
