Now that we have desktop leads I thought it is time to get the |
2 |
desktop-research back on its feed. I'll start with having the biweekly |
3 |
meetings as agreed upon in the previous meeting. It will be held on the |
4 |
#gentoo-desktop-research channel at 19:00 UTC this monday. |
5 |
|
6 |
Dams is currently quite busy with private issues so I'll temporarilly try to |
7 |
get some direction in the project. |
8 |
|
9 |
At this meeting the first state of business will be to select two projects |
10 |
that we will work on. The candidate projects are available on: |
11 |
http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/desktop/research/meeting_reports.xml |
12 |
If you want to add another project please send a proposal with description to |
13 |
gentoo-desktop-research@g.o before the meeting. (We will not broadly discuss |
14 |
the proposals during the meeting). |
15 |
|
16 |
After the projects are selected we will need volunteers to perform them. Those |
17 |
volunteers will then together form a subproject team. Their first points of |
18 |
business will be to create a project page and to appoint a lead (which they |
19 |
will announce on the list). After this is done they will make a plan and task |
20 |
assignment. The teams will post weekly progress reports on saturday. |
21 |
|
22 |
If there are enough volunteers we can start another project, but I will be |
23 |
expecting action from the teams. |
24 |

|
27 |
ps. This announcement was once crossposted to gentoo-dev@g.o and |
28 |
gentoo-desktop@g.o to make sure that all interested got the message. If you |
29 |
didn't know the project, please take a look at the project page. If are |
30 |
interested you can subscribe to gentoo-desktop-research@g.o, however |
31 |
we will expect you to participate in doing some of the work. |
