15 I suspect you didn't emerge -e system successfully after the bootstrap.

17 What does 'emerge -p net-tools' report?

19 If it says [N ] you don't have it installed and I am probably right with the
20 emerge -e system not being successful. If it says [R ] and /sbin/ifconfig
21 doesn't exist, please attach your /var/log/emerge.log to

24 emerge -av --newuse system should fix it and probably other missing things as
