It's my pleasure to introduce new Gentoo developer Theo Chatzimichos |
2 |
(also known as tampakrap on IRC). |
3 |
|
4 |
Theo joins us from Larissa, Greece where he is undergraduate student of |
5 |
Computer Science in the Technological Educational Institute of Larissa. |
6 |
In the past three years his primary concern was university's Linux team |
7 |
that organized two conferences, three install fests and many burnfests. |
8 |
Also they've been guested on a larger conference in Athens called |
9 |
FOSSCOMM (presentation of open source communities from all over Greece), |
10 |
and they proposed the committee to have this year's conference hosted in |
11 |
Theo's university. In university's Linux team they managed to convert |
12 |
many people to Linux (but not Gentoo unfortunately). |
13 |
|
14 |
Theo with some other Greek Gentoo users decided to boost Greek Gentoo |
15 |
Community by opening a new site with documentation and translations. He |
16 |
already translated a large part of Gentoo Handbook into Greek, so it |
17 |
looks like this idea is about to be implemented. |
18 |
|
19 |
In Gentoo Theo volunteer to help kde team with kde3 packages. |
20 |
|
21 |
Please, give a warm welcome to Theo, |
22 |

23 |
Peter. |
24 |
|
25 |
|
26 |
P.S. Those who read this announcement at FOSDEM have a chance to meet |
27 |
Theo there and welcome him in real life. |
