And you didn't even mention bug 895030 which prevents compiling at all
with modern GCC. :)

Upstream has been ignoring multiple reports and PRs since 2021. In fact,
upstream steadily works on the code but does not respond to *any* bug
reports regardless of type.

So, IMO we can go one step further and say: raising hands will be
rejected with prejudice.
