I believe the point fghellar was making is that Gentoo Technologies
has nothing to do with the forums.  The forums are not the same as
www.gentoo.org (all they share is DNS space), and are not the same as
the mailing lists.

Being a forums moderator, fghellar is as close to "official staff" of
the Gentoo Forums as you will likely get; if he says there is no
official staff, I will believe him.
