Also not really sold on the idea of auto detecting everything on bootup |

for a working system. Seems slow to boot (as far as it went) and has a |

lot of cruft attached (unused modules, kernel options etc). If you go |

the menuconfig route, you may as well do it all by hand, and remove the |

possiblity of initrd problems. |

Also, does compiling in the LiveCD gui window (blue) seem much-much |

slower than a normal tty to others? Took 36hours to do bootstrap on a |

K6-500, but emerge system seems quite fast now I switched to a normal |
