Good evening, |
5 |
|
6 |
Please note that beep-media-player and accompanying plugin packages have |
7 |
been removed from the portage tree on March 5, 2006. This had been |
8 |
announced on the gentoo-dev & sound mailing lists prior to it being |
9 |
masked on February 18, 2006. |
10 |
This software has been abandoned by it's authors since October 2005. |
11 |
|
12 |
Note that a currently active fork exists (Audacious), which has absorbed |
13 |
the necessary functionality to play all formats that BMP would have |
14 |
needed a plugin for. The 0.1.2 release of Audacious has the same |
15 |
stable keywords that beep-media-player has, and should prove to be an |
16 |
effortless upgrade. For anyone running ~arch, release 0.2.2 is available. |
17 |
Audacious is the recommended upgrade path from beep-media-player. |
18 |
Most, if not all the bmp plugins available in portage have already been |
19 |
absorbed into this program. |
20 |
|
21 |
Regards, |
22 |
Tony (Chainsaw) |
