[gentoo-dev] Install w/o network connection to internet

Is it possible to install without having internet connection?
I have been trying to install with the cd image and copy of portage
snapshot, but install process stops at scripts/bootstrap.sh becuase install
process tries to connect to net to get updates.  I have made changes to
make.globals,removed to http links , but after bootstrap.sh is run,
make.globals has http links to gentoo again, and install fails.

Would appriciate any info to get gentoo  installed.
