Hi. |
5 |
|
6 |
During the course of bug 280312[1], we (KDE team) made the pm-utils |
7 |
support in powerdevil optional based on a use flag. Although hal was |
8 |
already using the "laptop" use flag for similar support, we decided to |
9 |
use the "pm-utils" use flag as wicd was already doing. The decision was |
10 |
based on the dislike for the laptop use flag by most of the people |
11 |
discussing this issue in #gentoo-dev at that point. |
12 |
As these packages are using these flags to enable support for |
13 |
suspend/resume through the sys-power/pm-utils package, we should pick |
14 |
one name for that flag and apply it on all packages. Raúl (armin76) has |
15 |
also suggested in #gentoo-dev[2] that we should mask the use flag |
16 |
globally and only unmask it on arches that support it. |
17 |
Any suggestions for the use flag name? If not, which use flag would you |
18 |
prefer? Any objections to mask the use flags globally as Raúl suggested? |

[2] - 2009/08/16-16:50 <@armin76> i think both laptop and pm-utils |
22 |
should be masked globally and then unmasked on arches that can run it |
