You may have to deal with some problems, but this group is very
responsive to fixing any problems, pointing you to other sources of
information, etc.

I've installed it, and I have a completely functional system using
sylpheed, xfce, some kde, some gnome, CD_RW, and cups. I had to
correct a few problems (reinstalled man, corrected a few config files,
created a few boot script files, etc.), but my system is rock solid.
Jump right it; the water is fine.

I'm sure update capabilities will be provided in the future, but it's
not there now.

If you've learned enough to handle multiple distros, you are certainly
ready to try gentoo where 90% of the stuff works right out of the box;
the remaining 20% requires a lot of RTFM and searching for answers.
By the time you've got this under your belt, you'll be a guru.
