Hmm .. this sounds like more work than gain. The two (or more) instances |

of portage would have to communicate to work out who is doing what. |

Just don't start two instances of portage that will install the same |

packages. This is still a big gain from RH and Debian (for example), |

since they don't let you install several independent packages |

simultaniously. |
