Hi,

I'm in favor of cascading profiles, but the current implementation 
needs some improvement:

- Guidelines for changing inherited profiles.
- An improved inheritance design: A generic (non-linux) base profile 
and more specialized sub-profiles.
- The Base profile requires virtuals to be installed that are only 
declared in subclasses (virtual/dev-manager). No tool to QA these 
things.
