4 That's easy - that's what gentoo's portage is all about. Turn kde off, emerge
5 kde-2.2, unmerge kde-2.1.x, and that's it.

7 One caveat: your global (system) kde settings will be gone. Actually kde does
8 a very bad job migrating settings between major versions, so you might be
9 better off removing your personal (user) settings before running kde-2.2. You
10 can try to import the settings of course, you can always delete them later.

12 Your global settings are in /opt/kde(x.y.z)/share/config and your personal
13 settings are in ~/.kde.
