I recently upgraded and recompiled my system against gcc3.2 and the newer |
2 |
glibc. I had a few hiccoughs (fwbuilder won't compile at all against the |
3 |
newer gcc, etc), but my main problem deals with loopback support. |
4 |
|
5 |
I use the encrypted loopback support supplied in the kernel crypto-sources |
6 |
package, and specificly, I use the aes cipher. However, when I attempt to |
7 |
mount a looback device - I get a general protection fault, which is |
8 |
something I've never seen before (in linux). It zombies the mount process |
9 |
and seems to lock up the pty. |
10 |
|
11 |
So at the moment, I'm locked out of most of my critical files, but I have a |
12 |
backup of the partitions in question - so It's just a matter of regaining |
13 |
access to them. |
14 |
|
15 |
My fstab entry for this partition looks like: |
16 |
|
17 |
/dev/hda4 /home/cmauch/safe ext2 |
18 |
defaults,users,noauto,loop=/dev/loop0,encryption=aes,keybits=128 0 0 |
19 |
|
20 |
The error I'm seeing is as follows. |
21 |
|
22 |
general protection fault: 0000 |

When I attempt to mount my encrypted zip diskettes, I get a similar error. |
38 |
If anybody here can point me in the right direction to getting this fixed, |
39 |
even if it's only an email address of someone who can help - I'd would |
40 |
really appreciate it. |
41 |
|
42 |
BTW: Other than this problem, I've not had any other problems - and the |
43 |
response of the entire system feels much snappier. Cool stuff ;) |

It's is not, it isn't ain't, and it's it's, not its, if you mean it |

is. If you don't, it's its. Then too, it's hers. It isn't her's. It |
52 |
isn't our's either. It's ours, and likewise yours and theirs. |
