Hi,

I found the announcement of Gentoo 1.0 on Slashdot over Easter, and have
been reading your website.

I have a lucent chipset based PCI modem, this is supported under Linux using
the drivers at
http://www.heby.de/ltmodem.

The install of Gentoo relies on being able to download components from the
Internet, for this the modem
needs to be functioning under Linux. Is there a point in the installation
where I can build the required
drivers to continue the Gentoo installation? What would I need to download
in advance of this to ensure
it can be built? (I would expect I need all Stage 1 requirements, is there
anything else required?)

I haven't downloaded anything at this stage, is the gentoo-ix86-1.0.iso
sufficient, or would the
gentoo-i686-1.0.iso image be required?

Thanks,
Paul.
