You can always use rpm2targz to convert rpm package to useable form. I am not |

sure of the similar app to convert dpkg's (if it even exists). |

However be aware that you are loosing the real strength and flexibility by |

resorting to precompiled packages (and they may fail as they might have some |

specific requirements). |
