I'll repeat what I wrote on this list at least 4 times now. The gnome
team decided to move forward and use systemd as we have not enough man
power to develop our own alternative to logind.

If there ever was such alternative, we would most likely drop the
systemd requirement and I would, for sure, be the first to try it out
since I very much prefer openrc.
