If you are tired of waiting forever for konqueror or netscape or |
2 |
mozilla to load, give the new opera beta a try. |
3 |
|
4 |
There may be a few sites tht won't work, but none of the ones I |
5 |
visit regularly have any problems. Multiple windows and |
6 |
downloads work like a champ. |
7 |
|
8 |
Here's what I did. |
9 |
|
10 |
1. Go to www.opera.com/downloads and get the dynamic tar.gz |
11 |
file |
12 |
2. su (if this doesn't work, your user needs to be in group |
13 |
wheel and fix the wheel user list |
14 |
to allow your user) (or do the install from root). |
15 |
3. cd /usr/src |
16 |
4. cp path.to.opera.file.gz . (wherever you put the file) |
17 |
5. tar xvzf opera.file.gz (the file on /usr/src) |
18 |
6. cd opera.dir (the directory just created) |
19 |
7. sh install.sh -s |
20 |
8. run opera (use run box under xfce or from a terminal under |
21 |
kde or gnome opera &) |
22 |
9. enjoy |
