9 have you looked at www-servers/varnish - appears to be the new kid on the
10 block for this kind of stuff (http acceleration that is)...

12 the stuff you mention seems to be pretty trivial to setup in varnish.
13 (including rewrites of old style URLs - if i am not mistaken).
