8 Please take a look at #1523 (note the number ;)), it addresses essentially
9 this issue, or pretty similar. Half of the ideas from there we got done
10 already, but another half is nowhere near. I'd even say they need some
11 drastic redesign first, before they should go anywhere near glep or "nearing
12 implementation". For one infra will not be happy at all about more major
13 stuff, but you said "don't bother, just give me ideas", so here you go ;).
14 Then some subprojects that are necessary to get that done in full were talked
15 about and restarted a few times, but eventually died every time. I am talking
16 about gentoo-stats and similar..

18 Frankly, I haven't thought much about this for the last two years or so, being
19 busy with "issues of the day" mostly (and undergoing big real life
20 transitions :)), but nonetheless kept the bug open, as from my experience
21 this issue resurfaces every year or so. So, please take a look. Hopefully you
22 will find something usefull..
