In getting ready to release PHP5 in ~arch, I'm looking for more testers.
It should work perfectly, as there are very limited changes (I don't
have the backwards compatibility URL handy). It should work out of the
box with your existing PHP setups, provided they don't use:
- domxml
- java
- sablotron
If you use one of the above, it's a little more questionable, see the
PHP docs.

To test it, add these three lines to /etc/portage/package.keywords:
dev-php/php -x86
dev-php/mod_php -x86
dev-php/php-cgi -x86

Then do:
(customize your USE flags as you wish)
emerge php mod_php php-cgi

Post problems AND success reports (esp. on non-x86) arches here:
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56963

The only untested USE flags to date are:
adabas birdstep db2 dbmaker empress empress-bcs esoob frontbase
hyperwave-api informix ingres interbase mnogosearch msession msql
oracle7 ovrimos pfpro sapdb solid sybase sybase-ct

All of which require external packages that are almost all binary-only.

Barring any major problems, I'd like to move PHP5 to ~arch in a week.
