In getting ready to release PHP5 in ~arch, I'm looking for more testers. |
2 |
It should work perfectly, as there are very limited changes (I don't |
3 |
have the backwards compatibility URL handy). It should work out of the |
4 |
box with your existing PHP setups, provided they don't use: |
5 |
- domxml |
6 |
- java |
7 |
- sablotron |
8 |
If you use one of the above, it's a little more questionable, see the |
9 |
PHP docs. |
10 |
|
11 |
To test it, add these three lines to /etc/portage/package.keywords: |
12 |
dev-php/php -x86 |
13 |
dev-php/mod_php -x86 |
14 |
dev-php/php-cgi -x86 |
15 |
|
16 |
Then do: |
17 |
(customize your USE flags as you wish) |
18 |
emerge php mod_php php-cgi |
19 |
|
20 |
Post problems AND success reports (esp. on non-x86) arches here: |
21 |
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56963 |
22 |
|
23 |
The only untested USE flags to date are: |
24 |
adabas birdstep db2 dbmaker empress empress-bcs esoob frontbase |
25 |
hyperwave-api informix ingres interbase mnogosearch msession msql |
26 |
oracle7 ovrimos pfpro sapdb solid sybase sybase-ct |
27 |
|
28 |
All of which require external packages that are almost all binary-only. |
29 |
|
30 |
Barring any major problems, I'd like to move PHP5 to ~arch in a week. |
