I have Gentoo 1.2 installed, but I used hdparm -d 0 to |

disable the DMA for my ACER 32 X CD before unzipping |

stage files. I get errors if the DMA is enabled :-(( |

Now when Gentoo 1.4 rc1 is ready I'm stuck with kernel |

panic at the boot - when tyring to populate the links. |

The livecd doesn't take any kernel params – it |

automatically boots, though I'm not sure there is |

param for stopping DMA. Anyway it would be helpful in |
| 11 |
some situations to be able to pass params. |

Also are you going to support normal install CD (not |

live CD with installed Gentoo) like in 1.2 ? Or can |

you make it optional? This part with the mouting and |
| 16 |
extracting really fails on old cdroms like mine :-( |
