I just found out about your project from an O'Reilly web article.
Sounds very interesting. However, when I went to your web site and
looked at the pages, I saw Nvidia logo. Now how can one as my experience
serves, use Nvidia graphics boards with Open GL without Nvidia proprietary
code. I have been using RH 7.3 on a Dell with Nvidia and I must "taint" the
kernel to include Nvidia's proprietary 3-D kernel modules. Do you have
another way, such as open source drivers that work well. You must if
you use Nvidia and support games (I am not really a gamer so I guess I
could get away without using Nvidia's code).

Grrr .... pleasedon't post html.

Gento makes available an ebuild that will download and install the
proprietary NVidia drivers for you.

Gentoo does *NOT* depend on the NVidia drivers.

That is, you can safely install a Gentoo based system and not use the NVidia
drivers, unless you wish to take advantage of the features that the NVidia
drivers provide.

Children seldom misquote you. In fact, they usually
repeat word for word what you shouldn't have said.
