I have just downloaded and burned the rc5 build cd in hopes of running |

Gentoo and helping with the development (or at least the docs!). |

One problem though... |

I have done the following: |

1) Boot from build CD image (42MB size) |
| 10 |
|
| 11 |
2) Login as root |
| 12 |
|
| 13 |
3) modprobe tulip (activates network card) |
| 14 |
|
| 15 |
4) ifconfig eth0 up |
| 16 |
|
| 17 |
5) dhcpcd -d eth0 |
| 18 |
|
| 19 |
I get the card to broadcast a request, but it times out. |

BTW, I am using a lynxsys dsl router (has a dhcp server) to connect. Also, |

this setup works in Debian Potato and Woody. What is different in this |
| 23 |
system? |
