1 All the files that seem to need to be in /boot/boot are there. I even
2 did the custom kernel compile, and copied my new kernel in there.

16 Is it possible that you didn't have /boot mounted when you did
17 the "emerge --usepkg system" step? That's the step that
18 should have copied all of the important files to /boot/boot/*.
