Hi everyone, |
2 |
I have been lurking for a couple of months, but I finally got around |
3 |
to installing from the build CD this past weekend. I thought I would go |
4 |
about my emerges a little skewed and see if I could shake out a few |
5 |
bugs, and I have managed to find a couple. Overall, everything has gone |
6 |
amazingly smoothly. Great job! |
7 |
|
8 |
Here are my bugs: |
9 |
1. permissions on /etc/env.d/00basic are different than the other files |
10 |
in that directory |
11 |
2. Instead of slowly installing, kdecore, kdelibs, etc. I decided to |
12 |
just go for a big 'emerge koffice-2.1.1_beta3-r1.ebuild to see what |
13 |
would happen. Everything compiled and installed (apparently fine) |
14 |
except for koffice itself. So either the ebuild is busted or there is a |
15 |
missing dependence (or both). I was not able to capture the output, but |
16 |
there were some missing symbols. Maybe tonight I will let it run and |
17 |
catch the output |
18 |
3. emerge mozilla-0.9.2.ebuild compiles and installs, but it will not |
19 |
run (segfaults) |
20 |
4. bitchx-gtk seems to need a dependence on esound and gnome-libs |
21 |
(libzvt, in particular), but even after I emerge those it fails. It |
22 |
always fails when trying to compile the esd test program. |
23 |
5. It was solved earlier today on this list, but I was also having |
24 |
problems getting AA fonts in KDE. |
25 |
|
26 |
That's all for now. Thanks, |
27 |
