I've got one for you, since it seems you missed the big discussion last |
18 |
week of 'MOVE != MERGE', and didn't update any instances of the above |
19 |
packages in the tree to reflect the new package names... |
20 |
|
21 |
In a package that I maintain (sys-apps/readahead-list), I have this |
22 |
DEPEND data (fluff left out): |
23 |
DEPEND="virtual/os-headers |
24 |
!=sys-kernel/linux26-headers-2.6.8.1*" |
25 |
|
26 |
This is because I found that the linux26-headers-2.6.8.1 did NOT work (I |
27 |
filed bug #86178 about it, it's another manifestation of bug #83224). |
28 |
|
29 |
However, linux-headers-2.6.8.1* do seem to to work perfectly fine, as do |
30 |
linux-headers-2.6.11. This is going to cause lots of pains for users |
31 |
that want to have the package. |
32 |
|
33 |
Your merge of the two trees above is non-ideal, as the ebuilds that had |
34 |
matching version numbers don't seem to have identical ebuilds, so what |
35 |
the user actually has is dependant on what the package was called when |
36 |
it was installed. |
