5 That's true, but ever wonder why so many people expend so much effort
6 to have easy-to-use installers? It turns out that if installation is a
7 pain, many fewer people actually end up using your software. Gentoo is
8 more than just Portage.

10 Now, maybe people in Linux land have been too obsessed with having a
11 super-friendly installer - but it needs to be friendly-enough (and
12 compatible-enough) and it might be a good idea to take a fresh look at
13 how to streamline the Gentoo install experience.

15 Right now, installing Gentoo is a chore, and the many wonderful
16 choices of Gentoo end up making the install rather complicated. So I
17 definitely support ideas to help make our installation process
18 better/streamlined and less confusing. There are a lot of easy little
19 things that could be done.
