i've sucessfully compiled and run

app-editors/quanta-3.0_pre2
net-p2p/qtella-0.5.3-r2

with gcc-2.95.3-r7 on my 128MB iMac. Qtella was a long compile, i had to use
- -j1 and one compile task went to over 380MB. top reported a cpu time of moe
than 25 minutes for this task (of course with that much virtual mem swapping,
it was almost 3 hours wall clock time)

i have two itches with the portage system:

- how can i know if any installed package is needed by another? (and by which
one) sometimes i have an old library, and would like to know why is it there.

- i usually run 'emerge rsync; emerge -pu world' to see if there are any
update, but it won't tell me if there's any 'non-tested' update... i'd like
to add a flag so it would only ignore those specifically flagged out.

other than that, it's the bestest tool ever on linux administration!
