I'd like to add a new virtual "virtual/gnustep-back". I've never |
6 |
added a virtual before, so I figured I'd post and ask. ;-) Currently, |
7 |
in the old GNUstep packages in portage, there is only "gnustep-back" |
8 |
as a package. However, a handful of backends exist: gnustep-back-x11 |
9 |
(good default/okay for remoting/etc), gnustep-back-art (uses |
10 |
libart_lgpl), and gnustep-back-cairo (is in development, atm). There |
11 |
are also backends for Cygwin / MingW on Windows, for example. Using |
12 |
GNUstep involves having one of these backends. |
13 |
|
14 |
So, considering all this, where/how/to-what do I add this virtual? |
15 |
I'd like to add it to "all systems that can run X11" (for the 3 |
16 |
available x11 dependant back ends), but there is also the possibility |
17 |
for cygwin / mingw GNUstep on windows. Granted, GNUstep on Gentoo on |
18 |
Linux doesn't work on arches other than x86, ppc that well atm, but it |
19 |
can and likely will. |
20 |
|
21 |
I've probed around in the profiles directory in portage, but I fear |
22 |
that .../profiles/base/virtuals may not be the right spot for this. |
23 |
But I just don't know. |
24 |
|
25 |
Also, I've heard there was a virtuals doc, possibly...am I just not |
26 |
able to easily find it? |
27 |
|
28 |
Any thoughts on all this, and especially what I may be overlooking, |
29 |
would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |
