Hi, |
2 |
|
3 |
First, I apologize in advance if this is the wrong forum to address |
4 |
this question, but it's the only gentoo list that I'm currently aware |
5 |
of. I also don't think what I'm encountering is a bug, but probably |
6 |
some other issue. |
7 |
|
8 |
I have been exploring Gentoo off and on since early 2000. The latest |
9 |
edition looked very, very appealing to me and I decided to go for it. |
10 |
|
11 |
After following the installation directions (very straightforward), and |
12 |
getting to the bootstrap stage: |
13 |
|
14 |
# scripts/bootstrap.sh |
15 |
|
16 |
The script does it's thing (note that I configured /etc/make.conf), |
17 |
and at about 72% (just past 5750K) of what I believe is a download |
18 |
process from ibiblio, I get message (after a pause or timeout of |
19 |
several minutes): |
20 |
|
21 |
|
22 |
!!! binutils-2.11.92.0.12.3.tar.bz2: message digests do not match! |
23 |
!!! binutils-2.11.92.0.12.3.tar.bz2 is corrupt or incomplete |
24 |
>>> md5 con (checksum numbers here, etc, etc) |
25 |
>>> md5 now (different checksum numbers here, etc, obviously no match) |
26 |
>>> Please delete/redownload |
27 |
>>> /usr/portage/distfiles/binutils-2.11.92.0.12.3.tar.bz2 |
28 |
|
29 |
!!! emerge aborting on |
30 |
/usr/portage/sys-devel/binutils/binutils-2.11.92.0.12.3-r1.ebuild |
31 |
|
32 |
(none) portage # |
33 |
|
34 |
I'm probably out of my league here, but could someone point me to |
35 |
information on how to point/configure emerge to use a different |
36 |
source other than ibiblio? That might not be the problem, but it's |
37 |
the last variable I haven't changed. |
38 |
|
39 |
And if this was the wrong place to raise this almost newbish issue, |
40 |
sorry. |
41 |
