10 Personally, I'd think it would depend on the utility of the fix script
11 for this particular problem - theoretically, if it did anything to help,
12 it'd be recreating the files. The delete could potentially have been
13 needed to make it recognize that there was a problem along that
14 particular line. Admittedly, after experiencing such a problem, I'd
15 rather move the directory to a backup, try the fix script. If that
16 worked, compare the recreated directory to the old one; else move the
17 old one back and emerge -e world, cross all crossable appendages.
