Personally, I'd think it would depend on the utility of the fix script |

for this particular problem - theoretically, if it did anything to help, |

it'd be recreating the files. The delete could potentially have been |

needed to make it recognize that there was a problem along that |

particular line. Admittedly, after experiencing such a problem, I'd |

rather move the directory to a backup, try the fix script. If that |
16 |
worked, compare the recreated directory to the old one; else move the |
17 |
old one back and emerge -e world, cross all crossable appendages. |
