I have a few boxes at work that require these drivers[1] and I'm |

pondering on making them available through portage. |

there is a catch though. building the drivers requires either a |
| 5 |
full XFree-tarball-pack and building, or we can pick the binary |
| 6 |
drivers and install the appropriate ones. that _should_ work. |
| 7 |
lastly, we can include these SiS drivers when we build XFree, |
| 8 |
optionally via a "sis" USE flag. |

there is also an application, sisctrl, to fiddle with the drivers |
| 11 |
while X is running. this is "configure; make; make install", but it |
| 12 |
requires the correct drivers to be installed. then again, running |
| 13 |
sisctrl without the correct drivers does no harm. :-) |
