1 As you probably read yesterday in GWN[1], Ethereal is being removed due to
2 security vulnerabilities[2] and replaced with its successor, Wireshark.

4 Ethereal, as far as anyone can tell, is no longer being developed[3] as all
5 the core developers have moved to Wireshark[4].

7 To make this transition as painless as possible, a package move has been setup
8 so Ethereal users should automatically upgrade to Wireshark.

10 To keep the saved configuration from Ethereal and reuse it with Wireshark do
11 the following for each user that has a saved Ethereal configuration:

13 cd $HOME
14 mv .ethereal .wireshark
