Hey guys. |
2 |
|
3 |
There are a bunch of ebuilds (mostly in app-doc) that install stuff like |
4 |
HOWTOs, guides, reference manuals, books published under Creative |
5 |
Commons, etc. Currently the majority of these are installed into |
6 |
/usr/share/doc/${PF}. The problem with this is every time one of these |
7 |
packages gets a version bump it breaks any bookmarks or links one may |
8 |
have made for quick handy-dandy access. |
9 |
|
10 |
Should we: |
11 |
|
12 |
- install into /usr/share/doc/${PF} and symlink to /usr/share/doc/${PN} |
13 |
- install straight into /usr/share/doc/${PN} |
14 |
- install into /usr/share/doc/${PF} and symlink to some universal |
15 |
decided-on location (eg. /usr/docs/${PN}) just to keep stuff from |
16 |
getting lost in the sea of /usr/share/doc |
17 |
|
18 |
There's a bit of each in the tree right now, so i'd like to make it |
19 |
consistent. I like the third option personally. |
20 |
|
21 |
Also, anyone interested in an app-doc herd? |
