Probably the biggest reason for the closedness of the project is probably |

that there are no "official" ways to become a dev that originate from the |

candidate. Most if not all new developers are asked whether they would |
11 |
like to become a developer. This method has the advantage of weeding out |
12 |
goldseekers and other people who should not be given access to the tree. |
