2 you're suggesting masked vanilla-sources ebuilds which include the acpi
3 patch, I dont' think that's a good idea. I'm probably just misreading
4 your email though so that's probably not the case.

6 Having an acpi only release would probably benefit many Gentoo users.
7 Most wouldn't even need the acpi release as most don't need to use the
8 cryto-sources version for instance. It seems it would be a win-win
9 situation. The people that require the latest acpi would be able to help
10 the ACPI developers hammer it out with ease.

12 This brings up another question. I also track the development/beta
13 kernel (2.5.x) in ebuilds. Is this something that might be useful? There
14 could be a /usr/portage/sys-kernel/beta-sources/ What do you think?
