Developers, |
2 |
|
3 |
As you know, my DSL link data corruption problem has been fixed. However, |
4 |
additional steps are being taken to improve the quality of service you receive |
5 |
from cvs.gentoo.org: |
6 |
|
7 |
Today, my DSL Central Office -> ISP connection was moved to a new, |
8 |
lightly loaded T1, restoring cvs.gentoo.org's download speeds to normal. |
9 |
(I was getting about 1/2 download speed throughout the day) |
10 |
|
11 |
Tomorrow, my DSL service is being upgraded to business class and |
12 |
cvs.gentoo.org's upload speed will be doubled from 272Kbps to 544Kbps. |
13 |
|
14 |
So, by tommorow, you should notice an effective doubling of cvs.gentoo.org's |
15 |
bandwidth to the Internet. |
16 |
|
17 |
Also, in the short term future: |
18 |
|
19 |
My ISP will be upgrading their CO->ISP T1 to a DS3 which should almost |
20 |
totally eliminate the slight DSL-related slowdowns we experience during |
21 |
peak hours. |
22 |
|
23 |
I will begin making plans to move some services to higher-bandwidth |
24 |
locations on the Internet, as we have done with ibiblio.org. |
25 |
|
26 |
Best Regards, |
27 |
|
